The first Circles of Support and Accountability ( COSA) in this area started in 2008 and continue to be funded by the National Probation Service. We have an established history of Volunteering within Probation in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland, and provide training, support and supervision to all our Volunteers.
A close working partnership between Police, Probation and other key MAPPA partners is seen as essential to successful risk management and public protection. In all of our Circles and 1:1 mentoring, the offenders are referred from those supervised by the Police and the National Probation Service.
Our Volunteers support these offenders to live an offence free life in the community, helping them to be accountable as members of their community, and to comply with the terms and conditions of their community supervision.
To apply to become a Volunteer for LRPT please send an email to Leicester & Rutland Circles or telephone Stuart Wain, Volunteer & COSA Co-ordinator on 0116 2620400.
